In the content of The Second International Film Festival “Green Vision” Saint Petersburg, 12-15 March 1997 were presented 28 films from 10 countries.
International jury represented by:
- Hannu Vilpponen, Finland, TV journalist, project manager, Environtnent Project, Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE)
- Alfred Meyer, Germany, worked as a camerarman/photographer for artists & avantgarde film, director of Kinemathek Karlsruhe this institution.
- Alla Ivanova, Russia, expert in ECAT-Kaliningrad team dealing with National park, the City Zoo and mass media
- Liudmila Romanluk, Russia, Secretary for Science, Chief of laboratory of St. Petersburg's Scientific Research Centre for Ecological Safety.Manager of many international environmental projects
- Arkady Tigay, Russia, Film director, script writer, member of St.Petersburg Union of Filmmakers
awarded prizes for the best films on the following nominations:
- Grand Prix – QUEST, Germany, by Tyron Montgomery
- the best film for children - HELMUT OLSEN, Denmark, by Liller Moller
- the most original approach to reflecting environmental issues - RETURN OF THE RAPTORES, Sweden, by Bo Landin & Roger Olsson
- the courage in making an environmental film - METTERS OF NATURE: CLEARCUTS IN SIBERIAN TAIGA,Germany,by Valentin Thurn
- Prieze of the audience - INGENIOUS BUGS, Germany, by Karl-Heinz Kaefer
- Special prize of the information agency “North West” for the Beauty and Humanism - A STORY OF A PEAT BOG, Finland, by Janne Henriksson
Prize-winners of the Festival were screened for the audience and mass-media on Saturday, March 15.
An international round-table discussion on the future of the environmental film festivals was organized during the Festival.
